Glossary Term
Onii-chan / Onee-chan
Japanese for “big brother” (onii-chan) and “big sister” (onee-chan), these honorifics are pure weeb fuel. In anime, they’re used by younger siblings—or characters acting very sibling-adjacent—to sound cute, clingy, or sometimes… suspiciously flirty 👀. Cue flashbacks to “Onii-chan~!” squeals that haunt you (or fuel you). Iconic, overused, and occasionally dangerous to say out loud in public. Also see Ara Ara.
