Debt Bondage
A setup where a character agrees to serve or obey someone to pay off a debt—usually financial, but sometimes “emotional” or “family-related.” In spicy manga and manhwa, it’s a common excuse for submission, control, and long-term servitude with strings (and ropes) attached.
