Glossary Term
Imouto / Otouto
Imouto = little sister. Otouto = little brother. Simple in translation, loaded in anime. The imouto archetype is legendary: cute, clingy, and often the object of… questionable levels of affection. Think Kona-chan (Lucky Star) or Kobato (Haganai). The otouto gets less attention, but when he shows up, he’s either a cinnamon roll or secretly overpowered. Bonus points if they say “Onii-chan~” or “Onee-chan~” with that uwu energy.
