Glossary Term
Loli / Lolicon
Loli is short for lolita and typically refers to fictional female characters who appear very young—often prepubescent or childlike—regardless of their actual age in the story. These characters usually have petite bodies, big eyes, and innocent features. Lolicon (short for “lolita complex”) describes an attraction to such characters and is also used to label media where these characters appear in romantic or sexualized contexts. In fantasy and anime-influenced romance, loli characters might be immortal beings, spirits, or ancient mages who look young but aren’t children.
