Same energy as best girl, but for the dudes. Best boy is that male character who makes you go “you know what, if I had a homie like that, life would be better.” Or maybe, “I'm not gay, but if I were…”

He's the bro, the king, the guy with either the most tragic backstory or the most wholesome personality (sometimes both). Could be the protagonist, could be the side character who steals every scene—doesn't matter. What matters is the fandom has collectively agreed this man is peak character design and writing. Protect best boy at all costs. Will also start comment section wars, just with slightly different energy.
