Plastic Models

Also known as model kits or gunpla (for Gundam kits). These require assembly, and often painting or detailing. Ideal for hobbyists who enjoy customizing their figures or building from scratch.

Action Figures

Nendoroid / Mini Figures

Nendoroids are chibi-style (super deformed) figures with big heads, tiny bodies, and swappable faces and accessories. They’re fully poseable and extremely popular due to their cuteness and variety. “Mini Figures” is a broader term that includes Nendoroids and other small-scale collectibles.

Cast-Off Figures

Designed with removable clothing or parts, these figures let you “cast off” layers to reveal alternative states (e.g., bikini underneath armor, or full-on lewd versions). Made for mature collectors who want that spicy-but-somewhat-subtle display option.

Prize Figures

These are budget-friendly figures that are usually given away as prizes in arcade crane games in Japan. They’re mass-produced and generally more affordable, with decent detail but lower paint quality compared to scale figures. See also > Gacha.
